Common questions about our programs and services

General Questions

Who can participate in Fundamentally Awesome programs?

Our programs are designed for special needs children of all ages and their families. This includes children with autism, developmental disabilities, genetic disorders, and other special needs. We welcome the entire family—siblings, parents, and caregivers—to participate.

Are your programs free?

Many of our programs and events are free or low-cost for families. We work hard to remove financial barriers so all families can participate. Some specialized programs may have nominal fees to cover materials, but we never turn away a family due to inability to pay.

How do I sign up for programs?

You can sign up for most programs and events through our website or by contacting us directly. For recurring programs like Sensory Hours, you can simply show up! For special events or programs with limited capacity, we recommend registering in advance.

What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve families in the Houston metro area, including Friendswood, League City, Pearland, Clear Lake, Pasadena, and surrounding communities. Some of our educational resources and online workshops are available to families throughout Texas and beyond.

Program Details

What is the Service Dog Program?

Our Service Dog Program sources dogs from local shelters and trains them to become service animals for special needs children. This program helps enhance daily living and independence for children while also giving shelter dogs a meaningful purpose.

When will the Adaptive Swimming program be available?

Our Adaptive Swimming program is currently in development. We're working to establish year-round swimming instruction specifically designed for special needs children, focusing on water safety and building confidence. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when it launches!

What topics do your Educational Events cover?

Our educational events cover a wide range of topics including: elopement prevention, speech therapy resources, aggression management, insurance navigation, transitioning to adulthood, feeding therapies, CPR and first aid, and financial planning for special needs families.
