About Our Organization

What is Fundamentally Awesome?

Fundamentally Awesome is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering special needs children and their families. We provide inclusive, sensory-friendly events, educational programs, and community support to bridge the gaps left by overburdened systems. Our Tax ID is 93-4048757.

Who can participate in Fundamentally Awesome programs?

Our programs are designed for special needs children of all ages and their families. This includes children with autism, developmental disabilities, genetic disorders, and other special needs. We welcome siblings, parents, and caregivers to participate in our family-focused events.

Where are your events held?

We primarily serve families in the Houston metro area, including Friendswood, League City, Pearland, and surrounding communities. Our events are held at various partner locations throughout Texas.

Are your events sensory-friendly?

Absolutely! We design all our events to be inclusive and sensory-friendly. This includes reduced lighting and sound levels, quiet spaces for breaks, trained volunteers who understand sensory needs, and flexible participation options so every child can enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Programs & Services

What programs does Fundamentally Awesome offer?

We offer four core programs: Educational Events (workshops on therapy, safety, and resources), Service Dog Program (shelter dogs trained as service animals), Adaptive Swimming (water safety for special needs children), and Mental Health Support (resources for caregivers).

How does the Service Dog Program work?

We source dogs from local shelters and train them as service animals for special needs children. Dogs are matched with children based on temperament and needs, providing autism support, emotional support, and safety assistance. We believe in second chances for both shelter dogs and the children who need them.

Are your programs free?

Many of our events and programs are offered at no cost to families. Some specialized programs may have nominal fees. We never want cost to be a barrier to participation—contact us if you need assistance.

How can I donate to Fundamentally Awesome?
